OMG, has it been that long?

I can't believe that it's been almost a year since I last posted! That's one Halloween, one Thanksgiving, one Christmas, surgery and 80 pounds ago!
I guess I'll have to do my catching up in a couple of paragraphs paragraph or less. Let's see...last July, I was only 3 months or so in my WLS journey. Now, I am three months post op, 80 lbs down since April 2010, and 40 lbs down since February 14th, 2011. Ahhhhh, Valentines Day, I'll always remember it, wearing a hospital johnny, compression stockings, and a silly poofy hat on my head. Getting a needle shoved in my arm, a nice "cocktail" of versed, and waking up in a helluva lotta pain and tears. It was the first day of my new life. I had my RNY (gastric bypass) surgery done.
More to follow, it's been a hell of a day, and I am very tired. Time to take my meds and go to sleep. I know I promise that I'll post again soon, and never do, but I'll say it again. Untill the next time!

exercising, reading and family stuff

It's been awhile since I have posted, so I thought that since I am at my computer, I'd better check in!
I have been busy these days going to my water aerobics clases, I am going every day except Sundays in the morning, and also in the evenings on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It's nice to have a routine going, and I am enjoying it so much. I have been trying to do Qi Gong after class with some of the other ladies, but am not sure if I am into it that much. It's really easy, but sometimes I feel out of sync with the others when we are doing the exercises, so I get frustrated. I haven't joined them in a couple of days, and they are encouraging me to join them again. Let's see how that goes..... I haven't been doing the exercises that the physiologist gave me, thinking that the aerobics is enough, but I think I am going to start again, it can't hurt!

I have rediscovered reading! I got a Kindle for my birthday (I may have posted that already), and in the first few weeks I read 4 books! It's strange buying books since I have usually been against it, since I can always go to the library and borrow them, but I rarely take the time to go there! So the Kindle is a good option, when I have the money. I have also joined audible.com, and have gone crazy listening to audiobooks! It's a totally different experience than reading, especially if the narrator is good. So far I have listened to about 5 books, and my all time favorite has been 1000 Splendid Suns by Khaled Housseini. What a great story! I read the book before, but listening to it was so much more personal. I am now listening to The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, which I have seen the movie, so I know what is going to happen at the end. That kind of spoils the story a bit, but it's still interesting to listen to.

I got a letter from Jesse the other day, and I need to write him back soon. He knows that I am not happy about the situation he's in, and I am going to try to not yell at him too much. I certainly help that this time in prison will sink into his head, and he might learn his lesson. But knowing how he is, I almost doubt it.

Jeremy is doing well in Vegas, although he is still a bit lonely there. I think he is going to be ok though, he's finally going out and meeting people, and is really happy when he has friends come to visit from Phoenix. I will have to go up there to see him too, after he gets settled in his new house.

Kaity is the same as always. Working and spending time with Simi. We had words they other day, and feelings got hurt, but things are ok now. I just hope that she finds her way in this world, and that she starts seeing things as there are in reality, not through rose colored glasses.

Well, that's about it for now. I''l write more when I remember.

Good days past and better days ahead!

I have been so busy this week! It's amazing how it feels to have something to and somewhere to go, and get it all accomplished! I have made a committment to myself to now go to the Y for water aerobics 6 days a week, 2x on T/Th. Getting great workouts, and feeling like a million bucks!
It's great to have a new direction in my life!

Water aerobics, happy mail and shopping!

I am so excited! I ordered a brand new wardrobe online (including a new swimsuit!), and everything came a couple days ago! I love happy mail!
Today I went shopping to complete my new clothes with underclothing that I have desperately needed, and lucky me, I found it all in one place. Thanks goodness for great sales and having the money to buy what you want.
I also got my cell phone upgraded. I broke down and got on of those fancy phones with a keyboard, and I also got a bluetooth to go with it. Now I can catch up with Kaity in the technological world of text messaging, lol!
It's been a busy and productive day, and I feel great!

The beginning!

I made a decision to take over and restart my life! I am going to get lap band surgery done, hopefully in January of 2011. I began my journey in March when I went to a seminar...then went to my first consultation, and now I am on my way!
Since then, I have been on a diet and have started exercizing, and I have already lost 14 lbs! I am doing water aerobics 3 times a week, walking laps in the pool when there isn't class, and doing some things here at home. I was always told that exercize would make me feel good, but I never believed it!
After 4 years of sitting around doing nothing, I am getting out every day, feel energetic and best of all; I am feeling so much more positive about myself!
This is a journey to a new and better ME. Get ready Life, here I come!
